A French Charles X Inlaid Rosewood, Marble Top Commode, C. 1850.

$ 3,250
  • Description
    Refined and richly figured, this commode features a marble top above a concealed drawer in the apron, over a pair of cupboard doors opening to reveal three interior drawers. The case is beautifully veneered in rosewood with inlaid detailing throughout and rests on a molded base concealing an additional drawer. Exemplifying the restrained elegance and fine craftsmanship of the Charles X period, it combines classical symmetry with luxurious materials and subtle ornamentation and foliate designs. A striking statement piece as you enter the home — the marble top is durable for keys, mail, or a decorative bowl. Alternatively, use in the bedroom as a refined dresser or storage chest for a jewelry / watch collection, with the marble top perfect for displaying a lamp, jewelry box, or framed photos.
