Sideboard by Audoux & Minnet, France, 1940s–50s

$ 45,000
  • Description
    Large four-door sideboard by Audoux-Minnet, crafted from limed oak. The front panels are upholstered in dark green leather, and the top features a matching dark green glass surface. The piece stands on a rectangular base with two rounded legs, adorned with profile rings that echo in the corners of the cabinet. The doors are embellished with disc-shaped decorative elements. Inside, shelves and two drawers offer ample and practical storage space. During the 1940s and 1950s, the design duo Adrien Audoux and Frida Minnet became known for their original, modern furniture crafted from natural materials. They catered primarily to the affluent clientele of the French Riviera. After founding their workshop in Cannes in 1929, they relocated to Golfe-Juan (Alpes-Maritimes) in 1942. Glass top replaced.
