Wonderful Late 19th Century Vase in Weathered Mercury Glass

$ 1,100
  • Description
    Vase in Weathered Mercury Glass, Europe, late 19th century.

    The original silvering, once bright and mirror-like, has thinned and broken into a delicate constellation of wear, revealing warm tones of rose, amber, and muted gold beneath. This gives the piece an almost painterly depth.

    The form is simple and balanced: a trumpet-shaped cup rising from a rounded base and spreading foot, the profile characteristic of late 19th century decorative glass. The subtle pink tint suggests Central European production, most likely Bohemian.

    A wonderful vase showing great color and patina.
