Description
This is a well-woven scatter from the villagers in the Chahar Mahal district in central Persia. These rugs are often called ¢a‚¬ÅBakhtiari" although these latter weave mostly bags and not pile rugs. The navy ground is closely covered by tiny flowers and supports an ivory stepped and pendanted panel with a mobile palmette pattern. In the centre ius a semi-geometric palmette and straight vine medallion. Red border with two palmette types and orientations. Saturated colors with a good green and yellow. Good condition eminently floorable.
