Description
Chain-Link Swivel Stool in the Style of Franz West
Late 20th–early 21st century chain-link stool constructed from welded steel links with a gray gunmetal finish. Circular swivel seat upholstered in olive/mustard-toned leather. The base is formed by vertically suspended chain segments joined by a lower circular stretcher.
The design emphasizes industrial materials and sculptural form, characteristic of seating associated with Franz West’s exploration of functional objects as art.
Franz West (1947–2012) was an Austrian artist known for incorporating unconventional materials into furniture and sculptural objects, often blurring the boundary between fine art and functional design. -
