"Suzanne Tucker Interiors - The Romance of Design."

The prestigious San Francisco Fall Antiques Show (SFFAS) has organized a powerhouse panel discussion for this year’s Designer’s Saturday, a portion of the show dedicated to design-driven talks, tours, and lectures. Event attendees will have a rare opportunity to witness three of the design world’s most iconic figures -- Suzanne Tucker, Robert Couturier, and Charlotte Moss -- in conversation. Tucker, a member of the SFFAS’ advisory board and chairperson of the show’s annual Designers Circle, will lead the discussion, aptly titled “Celebrating Icons of Design.”

Tucker founded Tucker & Marks in 1986, and the San Francisco-based firm has long been considered one of the most respected and influential interior design firms in the country. A perennial on the AD100 list of top designers, Tucker is known for her passion for architecture and design as well as for her timeless yet modern style. An expert at incorporating antiques, textiles, and decorative arts into her interiors, Tucker’s award-winning projects have been featured in numerous magazines and books, including her own publications Rooms to Remember: The Classic Interiors of Suzanne Tucker and Suzanne Tucker Interiors - The Romance of Design.

"Robert Couturier: Design Paradises."

Couturier and Moss are both celebrated for their singular interpretations of modern design. Based in New York City, Couturier began cultivating his trademark continental and international style in 1987, while designing an extravagant Mexican estate for the billionaire financier Sir James Goldsmith. Bridging the gap between Old World elegance and contemporary design, Couturier’s luxurious interiors are functional, inviting, and have reverence for the architecture, the setting, and the clients. Couturier’s designs have been featured in Architectural Digest, Elle Décor, and his monograph, Robert Couturier: Design Paradises.

Moss, who is also based in New York, opened her firm in 1985 and was named a “Decorator to Watch” by House and Garden the following year. Her style, which has roots in Moss’ Southern heritage, is warm, comfortable, and decidedly luxurious. Blending American, European, and Classical influences, Moss’ designs range from private spaces to collections of furniture, fabrics, trims, carpet, decorative accessories, and jewelry. Moss has been the recipient of numerous awards, including The Timeless Design Award, given by the Royal Oak Foundation, Elle Décor’s Vision Award, and Traditional Home magazine’s list of the world’s top twenty interior designers. She is the author of nine books, including the forthcoming publication, Charlotte Moss: Garden Inspirations, which will be released in April 2015. Moss also contributes to House Beautiful magazine as special projects editor.

"Charlotte Moss: A Visual Life: Scrapbooks, Collages, and Inspirations."

As Tucker leads Couturier and Moss in conversation, she will delve deep into what makes each esteemed designer tick, what inspires them, how they individually approach the design process, and what drives them creatively on a daily basis. Tucker says, "This will be an informal chat among friends and like-minded design aficionados, that will give you a behind-the scenes look at the lives and interests of two wonderfully inspiring and uber-talented designers."

Now in its 33rd year, the SFFAS is a must-do for anyone interested in buying, collecting, or simply learning about antiques, fine art, and design. Thanks to the show’s knowledgeable and candid exhibitors as well as its fascinating lecture series, the SFFAS provides guests with an unparalleled design education. The SFFAS will be held from October 23, 2014 through October 26, 2014 at the Fort Mason Center in San Francisco. “Celebrating Icons of Design” will take place on Saturday, October 25, 2014 at 11 a.m.  For more information, visit www.sffas.org.
