Julie Bell is an American fantasy artist known for her vibrant and intricate paintings of fantastical creatures and characters. Born in 1958 in Beaumont, Texas, Bell grew up in the New York City area and studied at the Fashion Institute of Technology in New York. After working as a commercial illustrator for several years, Bell began to focus on fantasy art, drawing inspiration from the works of artists like Frank Frazetta and Boris Vallejo. Her paintings often feature muscular and dynamic figures, as well as intricate details and richly imagined landscapes. Bell has created artwork for numerous books, magazines, and other media, including album covers for the band Dio, and has also exhibited her work in galleries and museums around the world. In addition to her work as an artist, Bell is also a dedicated instructor and has taught classes and workshops on fantasy art techniques. She has won several awards for her artwork, including the Chesley Award and the Spectrum Award, and is widely regarded as one of the leading fantasy artists working today.
