The prestigious Winter Antiques Show will be celebrating its 63rd year from January 20-29, 2017 at the Park Avenue Armory in New York City. Collectors, designers, and curators will vie for the best works on the market, from antiquity through the present, showcased by seventy-three exhibitors.

For 2017, the Show has enlisted some of the top influencers in the world of interior design to be this year’s Honorary Design Chairs: Jamie Drake, Caleb Anderson, Celerie Kemble, and Miles Redd. This group was chosen for their prominence in the industry and expertise in decorating with a breadth of design materials and antiques.
Jamie Drake and Caleb Anderson, partners in the multidisciplinary design firm, Drake/Anderson, cater to both residential and commercial high-end luxury projects. These design powerhouses bring their respective takes on glamour, curation, elegance and livability to all of their design endeavors. Drake has long been a presence on Architectural Digest’s prestigious AD100 list, while Anderson has been cited on the rising-star lists of top publications including House Beautiful and Lonny.
Drake/Anderson have incorporated art and design objects from both traditional and contemporary dealers exhibiting this year at the Winter Antiques Show. The designers elaborate, “Over the years we have found pieces from the tradition-rich dealers such as Hirschl & Adler, Gerald Peters, and Barbara Israel, as well as from the more recently added contemporary sources including Maison Gerard, Glass Past and Liz O’Brien.”
Celerie Kemble has also been recognized in AD100 and is known for her stylistic versatility, pragmatism and beauty in her projects, which span the United States and the Caribbean. She has authored two books, To Your Taste and Black & White (and a Bit in Between). Kemble’s licensed product lines include furniture, case goods, upholstery, outdoor furniture, bar furniture, wood flooring, drapery hardware, rugs, fabrics, wall coverings, and mirrors. All of her designs offer the utility she believes is essential for any home. Her goal is to express the personality and sentiment of her clients through graciously designed interiors.

Miles Redd has been operating out of his New York City firm since 1998. His trademark design aesthetic brings boldness, wit, fantasy, and sophistication to all of his projects. Redd served as the creative director of Oscar de la Renta Home for a decade, and published The Big Book of Chic in 2012. He recently launched a line of fabrics and wall coverings with Schumacher and a line of rugs with Patterson Flynn Martin.
The focus of the Winter Antiques Show is, of course, the exhibitors. This year, one third are specialists in Americana, while their colleagues will feature English, European, and Asian fine and decorative arts. Every object exhibited is vetted for authenticity, date, and condition by a committee of 160 experts from the United States and Europe.

Smiles American Antiques, Elliott & Grace Snyder Antiques, Hyde Park Antiques, Ltd., Kelly Kinzle Antiques, Throckmorton Fine Art, Inc., Tillou Antiques, Olde Hope Antiques will be offering a myriad of antiques and important examples of American folk art.
Adelson Galleries, Arader Galleries, Bernard Goldberg Fine Arts, LLC, Gerald Peters Gallery, Hirschl & Adler Galleries, Inc., Schwarz Gallery, The Old Print Shop, Inc., Thomas Colville Fine Art will be exhibiting art spanning from the 16th century through the 20th century, and beyond. Exceptional pieces of design will be on view in the booths of Donzella, Liz O’Brien, Lost City Arts, and Todd Merrill Studio. The finest antique and estate jewelry will be exhibited by A La Vieille Russie, Inc., Kentshire, and Macklowe Gallery, Ltd, who will offer a broad range of art glass, lighting and furniture in addition to jewelry.

The Winter Antiques Show's 2017 loan exhibition, Abby Aldrich Rockefeller Folk Art Museum: Revolution & Evolution, honors the Abby Aldrich Rockefeller Folk Art Museum, one of the Art Museums of Colonial Williamsburg, Virginia. The museum is the oldest continuously operating institution in the United States dedicated solely to American folk art and commemorates its 60th anniversary in 2017. Show attendees will also be able to attend a series of lectures, which are complimentary with admission.

An Opening Night Party will help kick off the show on Thursday, January 19. The following week, January 26 from 7–9pm, the Young Collectors Night will offer a private viewing of the show for new collectors, emerging philanthropists, and art and design enthusiasts and is a chance to meet luminary interior designers from New York over cocktails and hors d’oeuvres. More than 100 designers serve on the Interior Design Committee for this special evening, and Wendy Goodman, Design Editor of New York magazine will also be in attendance.
Daily admission is $25 and includes a copy of the show’s award-winning catalog and Antiques & Fine Art magazine. All net proceeds from this preeminent art, antiques and design fair benefit East Side House Settlement, a nationally recognized community-based organization in the South Bronx that has worked for over 125 years to bring quality education and resources to immigrants and lower-income families in some of America’s poorest neighborhoods.
