The 2015 New York Art, Antique & Jewelry Show.

If you follow the Palm Beach Show Group, you may have noticed that the Florida-based production company responsible for some of the country’s finest art, antiques, and jewelry fairs, has a knack for staying ahead of the curve. For instance, back in May, the Show Group’s CEO, Scott Diament, announced the addition of fine craft fairs to the roster—a move that has allowed the company to gain an early foothold in the rapidly growing craft and design industry.

The Palm Beach Show Group’s latest venture involves a partnership with the illustrious British Antique Dealers’ Association (BADA)—a nearly one-hundred-year-old trade association for Britain’s leading antiques dealers. The collaboration is exceptionally timely given the UK’s recent Referendum vote. Diament says, “We had our first meeting with BADA the Wednesday before the Brexit vote and cemented the partnership post-Brexit. It was about as timely as you could possibly get.”

The partnership, which will involve a dedicated BADA pavilion at the upcoming New York Art, Antique & Jewelry Show (November 9-13, 2016) at Pier 94 in Manhattan, provides BADA’s 300+ dealers a solid presence in the United States. BADA, which organizes a magnificent show each spring in London’s Duke of York Square, has been actively developing new strategies and campaigns since the Referendum result was announced. According BADA CEO, Marco Forgione, “With the change in the value of the pound against the dollar, now is the time for us to create new opportunities for BADA members in the U.S. markets.” Diament adds, “The partnership is a huge plus for the international dealers and for American collectors, who now have Britain’s finest dealers in their hometown, opposed to having to travel to see them. It’s a win for both sides.”

The New York Art, Antique & Jewelry Show will be anchored by the BADA stand, which will highlight all aspects of the British Antiques Dealers Association and what it means to be a dealer of that caliber. Diament says, “Having a partner like BADA is huge for the New York show.” While the fair has had a number of British dealers in the past, including the inimitable Richard Green, the partnership will significantly enhance the New York Art, Antique & Jewelry Show’s European component.
