Christopher Saunders

American, 1972

Christopher Saunders is an artist best known for his deconstructed landscape paintings and works on paper. Born in 1972, he received a BFA from Virginia Commonwealth University and a MFA from the Mason Gross School of the Arts at Rutgers University.

 

His paintings have been exhibited in New York, Boston, Miami, Los Angeles, and internationally in Berlin and Beijing.

 

Saunders was a 2010 fellow in painting, awarded by the New York Foundation for the Arts, and a recipient of the prestigious Virginia Museum of Fine Art Fellowship. His work has been written about in Contemporary Magazine, Dirty Laundry Magazine, Phaidon.com and White Hot Magazine.

 

Christopher Saunders currently lives and works in Brooklyn, NY.
