Collura & Co.
Denis Collura has been designing and fabricating sumptuously made light fixtures since 2003. Working closely with a small group of locally-based master artisans, Collura & Co. pieces meld sleek modernism with the exceptional handcraft and couture sensibilities of fine jewelry. Featured materials include hand-blown glass, cast bronze, precision-machined brass, exclusive fabrics and a complete range of decorative metal finishes including silver, 24kt gold and bronze.
All fixtures are built one-by-one by Denis at the studio/showroom in Pound Ridge, New York. Though many pieces are ordered 'as featured' from the collection, a large component of the work is a result of his artful collaborations with design professionals and individual homeowners. Glass can be blown in custom colors and shapes and a broad range of metal finishes can be executed or matched. Lamp shades can be fitted with interchangeable collection fabrics or made with customer-provided materials. Fixture hardware and profiles can be tailored to specification or developed from scratch. The studio's flexible and creative working process makes it possible to style unique pieces that complement both classic and modern interiors.
Collura & Co. collections have been featured at the International Contemporary Furniture Fair, the Architectural Digest Home Design Show, the Kips Bay Designer Show House and the Hamptons Designer Show House. Individual pieces have been featured in Elle Decor, Veranda, Interior Design, House and Garden, Metropolitan Home, Metropolis, Shelter and other design periodicals.
Educated at Duke University, Denis holds degrees in Art History and Economics. In addition to lighting design he is also a painter and jewelry maker.
