Coralie Laverdet

French, 1976

Coralie Laverdet is a distinguished graduate of both the École Boulle and the École Nationale Supérieure des Beaux-Arts de Paris. Her exceptional talent has been recognized on the international stage, with notable achievements including second prizes at the 7th and 8th International Paper Triennale in Charmey, Switzerland, in 2011 and 2014 respectively.

At the core of Coralie Laverdet's artistic exploration lies a deep reverence for materials and their expressive potential. Blending traditional techniques with a contemporary perspective, she delves into the intricate language of form, guided by an inherent fascination with the natural world and its captivating intricacies.

Drawing inspiration from extensive research, Laverdet's current focus centers on wood and paper, imbuing these materials with new life through methods of detour, recovery, and recycling. From the rich fibers of wood to the delicate texture of paper, she navigates a dynamic relationship that is at once intimate, collaborative, and at times, complex. Her creations, whether crafted from wood or paper, seamlessly integrate with and animate the architectural spaces they inhabit, reflecting her deep connection to the interplay between work and environment.

Since January 2020, Coralie Laverdet has been represented by maison parisienne gallery, where her works have garnered acclaim through exhibitions at prestigious venues such as the Hotel Solvay in Brussels for BRAFA 2020, the Collect show in London, and Paris Design Week.
