Ivor Abrahams

Ivor Abrahams (1935-2015) was a British sculptor, printmaker, and painter known for his playful and often surreal depictions of the human figure and everyday objects. Born in Wigan, England, Abrahams studied at St. Martin's School of Art and the Royal College of Art in London.
 
Abrahams' art is characterized by its whimsical and surreal quality, often featuring distorted or exaggerated depictions of human figures and everyday objects. He worked in a variety of media, including bronze, wood, and stone, and also produced prints and paintings.
 
In addition to his artistic career, Abrahams was also a respected educator and taught at several institutions, including the Royal College of Art and the Slade School of Fine Art. He was a member of the Royal Academy of Arts and received numerous awards and honors throughout his career, including being appointed a Commander of the Order of the British Empire in 2012.
 
Abrahams' work has been exhibited in galleries and museums around the world, and is held in numerous public and private collections.
