Jim Budish

American
Jim Budish (b. 1951, Colorado) is an acclaimed American sculptor celebrated for his whimsical, minimalist bronze animal figures. Raised in Colorado, he studied at the Art Students League of Denver and Loveland Academy of Fine Arts but supported his family in real estate before returning to sculpture in his 40s. His work captures the "joie de vivre" of animals—featuring lanky-legged horses, expressive dogs, and iconic characters like “Chauncey” the rabbit—with simplified lines and exaggerated forms that prioritize emotion and movement over realism.

Budish's bronze sculptures are featured in public, corporate, and museum collections across the U.S. and Europe. His piece “Chauncey,” a monumental rabbit, was permanently installed in Benson Park, Loveland, Colorado, and he’s received over a dozen national exhibition awards. Represented by galleries such as Gallery East (Loveland), Wilde‑Meyer (Scottsdale/Tucson), and Whistler Contemporary, his work continues to charm audiences with its warmth and humor.
