Lane Acclaim

Lane Acclaim is one of the most recognizable and enduring mid-century modern furniture lines produced by Lane Furniture. Introduced in the late 1950s, the collection was designed by Dutch designer Andre Bus and quickly became a commercial and design success. Its popularity helped define Lane’s reputation during the mid-century era and continues to make Acclaim a favorite among vintage furniture collectors today.

The Acclaim line is best known for its clean, Scandinavian-inspired silhouettes, tapered legs, and warm walnut finishes. A defining characteristic of the collection is its decorative dovetail inlay pattern, typically created by combining walnut with lighter contrasting woods. This detail adds visual interest while highlighting the craftsmanship and attention to design that set the line apart from other mid-century furniture of the time.

Originally launched as a series of occasional tables, the Acclaim collection expanded throughout the late 1950s and early 1960s to include a wide range of living and dining room pieces. Dressers, credenzas, coffee tables, side tables, and dining furniture were all produced with the same cohesive design language, blending functionality with refined modern style.

Today, Lane Acclaim furniture remains highly collectible for its timeless design, quality construction, and iconic mid-century modern appeal. The combination of elegant proportions, distinctive inlays, and practical design has ensured the Acclaim line’s lasting influence and continued relevance in both vintage and contemporary interiors.
