MarGian Studio was founded in 2015 by Mother-Son Duo, Maria Giansante and Josh Mejia. After over 35 years producing exquisite museum quality framing, the family based company switched gears.  The studio creates one-of-a-kind pieces of furniture which are entirely handmade in NYC with locally sourced materials.

The family run business focuses on creating an array of pieces using a variety of mediums and techniques. The aim is to provide luxury home furnishings with extreme attention detail. From reviving a lost art of water gilding to incorporating casted bronze work, each piece becomes sculptural works of art with functionality and versatility.

Maria Giansante is head gilder and artist behind much of the work. For the past three decades she has had the privilege of working with world renowned artists such as Claudio Bravo, Fernando Botero, Manolo Valdes, Jasper Johns, Juan Miro and countless other artists.  Today she uses her vast knowledge in techniques and mediums to incorporate them into her designs. Having been brought up in the fine arts and antiques world, Josh Mejia is the other creative force. He brings his strong love for abstract objects, fashion and design; he constantly pushes the team to new limits and ideas that seem far fetched. Maria was brought up as a bridal seamstress while in later years teaching her son the same trade. Today the two are an inseparable creative force sharing a common goal to provide truly unique customized pieces.
