Maurice Green
American, 1908 - 1993
Maurice Green was born in Latvia on the Baltic coast of Europe. In his early years he studied privately with some of Europe's leading art teachers.
After coming to the United States in the late 1920's, he made his home in Southern California. He continued his studies and work, primarily in realism. He then began developing his own technique and style that embraced primarily cubism and surrealism.
Green has had several one-man showings in major galleries, and many of his paintings can be found in a growing number of private collections.
