Michel Buffet

French, 1931
Michel Buffet is an international designer, born in Paris in 1931.
After receiving Engineer and Interior Architect degrees, he focused on creating objects: furniture and home fixtures that were subject to limited editions.
His meeting with Jacques Viénot, creator of Technès, guided his career towards what was then called industrial design.
Then he met Raymond Loewy, founder of the Society of Industrial Aesthetics, where he became an associate, developing activities, projects and achievements in the world of transport, capital goods and consumer products.
In 2011, he met Danielle Schirman, who made her first film about the Concorde aircraft and a second one, "The Black Lights of Serge Mouille." She approached Michel Buffet with the intent on making a counterpoint film, "The White Lamps of Michel Buffet". It was on this occasion that he met Claude and Didier Delpiroux, the managing directors of Serge Mouille Editions.
His lighting has clean white lines (now declined in black) and were subject to limited editions, such as Lignes de Demarcation.
Today, Michel Buffet is recognized as one of the great classic designers known around the world.
