Description
1 Volume. Hilaire Belloc, Marie Antoinette. First Edition. A lovely Cosway-style binding by Bayntun-Riviere. Bound in full red crushed morocco with the cover displaying an insert portrait of Marie Antoinette under glass bordered in ornate gilt-tooled details. Raised bands gilt with panels displaying detailed french gilt tooling and gilt label lettering. All of the edges are gilt with marbled endpapers as well as morocco and gilt turn-ins. Includes 31 illustrations and 4 maps. Published by Methuen & Co. in London, 1909.
