The spines display raised bands, bordering, floral panel detailing, and label lettering, all gilt-tooled. The top edges are gilded with marbled endpapers. Includes an introduction, a memoir by Richard Henry Stoddard, a frontispiece, and various letters from the author. Published by A.C. Armstrong & Son in New York, 1884.
