Signed. Signed copy of Hosoe Eikoh's Embrace. This book develops ideas from his 1961 book Otoko to Onna / Man and Woman. It explores the relationship between men and women in a series of abstract close-ups in which the female body is bleached to white in contrast with the darker tone of the male.
First edition, signed on the first page; folio (356 x 253 mm, 14 x 10 in); black-and-white photographs printed in gravure by Nissha Printing Co., preface by Mishima Yukio, design and layout by Eikoh Hosoe; black endpapers, black cloth-covered boards, titles stamped in white on spine and sides, printed dust-jacket, black and pink, publisher's cardboard slipcase with title label in black and white and orange printed wraparound band, fine; [96]pp. -
