A uniformly bound set of the first nineteen volumes of this popular compendium of plants by the horticulturist Joseph Harrison (1798-1856), illustrated with 250 lovely hand-coloured lithographs. Published between 1833 and 1859 in 12 monthly issues rarely found together, The Floricultural Cabinet contains articles on all aspects of Flower cultivation.
19 vols, 8vo; 250 hand-coloured lithographed plates, some of which folding, occasional light offsetting, trivial spotting to endpapers, else unmarked internally; contemporary half morocco over marbled paper boards, spine gilt in compartments, gilt lettering to second and fourth compartments, spines slightly sunned, some rubbing to boards and extremities, marbled edges; a fresh and attractive set. -
