Description
This monumental book presents Salgado's sweeping black-and-white photography of untouched landscapes and indigenous peoples across the globe, captured over a decade of expeditions to remote regions. The striking cover image of a river valley winding through towering mountains sets the tone for the visual journey contained within. Published in 2013 as the second printing of the first edition, Genesis represents the culmination of Salgado's documentary photography project that began in the 1990s. The work draws from the tradition of large-scale, socially conscious photographic collections that combine artistic vision with anthropological observation, published by the prestigious German publisher Taschen in a format designed to showcase the photographer's meticulous craftsmanship.
