Antique French enamelled and engraved brass carriage clock
French, late 19th Century
Clock: Height 12cm, width 8cm, depth 7cm
Case: Height 15cm, width 11cm, depth 9cm
This beautiful French carriage clock features a brass frame that is adorned with a profuse variety of scrolling foliate forms, with deep blue enamel set into the hollows between the raised brass motifs. The front face of the clock, which is set behind glass—as are all four sides—is similarly adorned and is set with a silvered dial inscribed with Arabic numeral hour indices. The clock is topped with a similarly decorated handle, and is set within its original fitted leather travel case. -
