Description
Solid gold and blue lapis lazuli Faberge style table clock and barometer
Russian, Early 20th Century
Height 22cm, width 15cm, depth 20cm
Crafted from the most luxurious and precious materials, including solid gold and the striking blue gemstone lapis lazuli, this antique Russian piece has been designed with the jeweller Carl Faberge in mind. The body of the clock is veneered in lapis lazuli and supported by a hinged arm at the reverse, where the tuning and adjustment key hang. The clock and barometer dials in the centre are both made from white enamel, and are decorated around the outside with gold mounts in the form of floral bouquets, floral swags, ribbons, trophies and foliage. There is a further gold mount running all the way around the edge of the clock case, in the form of a laurel garland. There are Russian prestige marks on the reverse of the clock. -
