    Very fine ormolu and Sèvres-style porcelain calendar mantel clock
    French, 19th Century
    Height 43cm, width 31cm, depth 16cm
     
    This beautiful antique piece is a large ormolu and Sèvres-style porcelain mantel clock with twin dials and framed in foliate Rococo style.
     
    The 4" white chapter ring of the clock dial encircles a recessed visible-escapement, and is signed 'Le Roy & Fils, Pals.Ral.Cie. Montpensier 13-15, Paris.' This is placed above a calendar dial which features a month chapter ring that encapsulates subsidiary days of the week, the month dial in English features a moon phase aperture.
     
    The piece as a whole is framed within an oval, rococo style foliate mounted case with cherub porcelain panels, between the two clocks faces and in the recesses below the main dials. Combining exquisite clockmaking craftsmanship and elegant Rococo decorative elements, it is a very fine interior piece and glamorous addition to one's home.
