A very fine Roxbury, Massachusetts presentation timepiece; the case with a lower eglomise tablet surrounded by a molded frame above a carved presentation base, below a similarly decorated throat glass, flanked by pierced sidearms; all below a round head with a hinged metal door, surmounted by a vasiform plinth and acorn gilt finial. The white painted face is signed ‘Warranted by Wm Cummens/Roxbury’, and the movement is the typical single bridge suspension seen on clocks by the Willards and their former apprentices. The clock remains in excellent condition with only minor touch up of the gilt decoration and tiny sections of inpainting on the glasses. All component parts, including the painted glasses, side arms, case, movement and face are original.
