Description
Fine example of the rough and polished sculpting work of Bernard Simon, featuring two figures joined in an embrace, mounted on a square wood block and able to rotate on metal pin.
Bernard Simon 1896-1980 was a Russian-born immigrant to the US. In New York City, he studied at the Educational Alliance and Art Workshop and was active in numerous art associations there including Brooklyn Society of Artists. He instructed at the Museum of Modern Art, the New School, and the Bayonne Art Centre. -
