Description
Presented here is a beautiful enamel on sterling silver box to hold your precious jewelry, mementos, cuff links, potpourri, etc. There is a magnificent Asian Dragon floating in the center of surrounding clouds depicted on the hinged lid, with the bottom half of the circular box decorated in a trompe l'oeil enamel to look like malachite. The interior has a gold wash. Marked on inside rim with Sterling, 935 and Germany and maker's touch marks. During the 1920s and 30s, the Oriental influence was often found in design and decor. In ancient China, the Dragon was a symbol of authority, auspicious power, success, strength and good fortune.
