Description
The Menine candleholder by Jacques Jarrige is a whimsical yet refined sculptural object, cast in bronze and signed by the artist. Its composition is a playful interplay of forms: two organically shaped, tapering cylindrical pyramids anchor the piece at either end, while a rounded, pebble-like form is suspended at the center, creating a sense of balance and visual rhythm.
As with much of Jarrige’s work, Menine evokes movement and personality through its irregular silhouettes and hand-shaped surfaces. The forms appear to shift and converse with one another, their asymmetry and natural contours inviting the viewer to engage with the object from every angle. The bronze is finished with a subtle patina that enhances the texture and highlights the sculptural detail.
Both poetic and functional, this candleholder offers more than illumination—it brings a touch of narrative, gesture, and artistry to any setting. Whether displayed as a standalone piece or as part of a collection, Menine exemplifies Jacques Jarrige’s ability to transform everyday objects into expressive works of art. -
