    Complete with copy of patent issued to Alonzo Platt of Middletown, Connecticut, on October 8, 1836.

    Alonzo Platt called this a "Union Lamp" in that it produced "a clear and vivid light by the union of three separate and distinct lamps or reservoirs, so combined as to burn under one glass."

    This true survivor of American Industrial Arts is the most complete and original extant.
