Description
Italian frames in the Dutch style, circa 1945, each featuring an architectural stepped silhouette with projecting square indentations along the outer edges, characteristic of Dutch and Flemish corner designs. The substantial molded borders are richly detailed with multiple rows of geometric ornament, including prominent basketweave and ripple-molded accents that create a layered, architectural effect.

The sophisticated combination of geometric carving and stepped construction gives these frames a distinctive Northern European character, interpreted through the craftsmanship of mid-century Italy. Interior opening: 9" H x 6.5" W.
