Description
This stunning Art Deco Machine Age skyscraper style pedestal was realized in France circa 1935. It offers a black lacquer rectilinear base that surrounds the volumetric rectangular body of the pedestal composed of bookmatched walnut that exhibits a beautiful natural grain. Four rectangular embellishments, in black lacquer, ascend from the base at each corner and are capped at the apex by square polished chrome fittings. With its quintessentially Art Deco forms and materials, this piece is sure to delight discerning collectors of first rate objects from this period, as well as those with a penchant for all things exquisite. While this is a perfectly functional pedestal, ideal for presenting sculptures and objet d'art, it is also an unparalleled example of great Machine Age design, perfect for any interior. It has been newly restored to mint condition.
