Description
On offer for your consideration we have an exceptional piece of ceramic cachepot designed in 1928 by Werner Burri for Velten-Vordamm.
Burri worked at the Bauhaus pottery in Dornburg an der Saak that was headed by Gerhard Marcks. The Bauhaus moved its works from 1925 to Dessau where Burri continued to his work. In 1928 he went to the Steingulfabriken Vetlen-Vordamm as head of the model and mold workshop which closed in 1931 he continued to design and work in Germany untill 1938. His modern contemporary forms and decoration was the trade mark of the Bauhaus which would change design and architecture around the world.
This cachepot is a great example of the time. -
