English 19th Century Garden Armillary Sphere on Column

$ 3,895
  • Description
    Dimensions: 53 ¼” H x 23” W x 20” D

    English gardens often display an armillary like this example, ancient devices to theoretically track the planets and stars composed of metal rings arranged in a globe. Adding a touch of history and sophistication to any indoor or outdoor space, the 19th century garden element features a blue and ivory painted finish over the metal which has oxidized and patinated for a charming variety of texture and color. The sphere is mounted to a heavy stone pedestal carved to irregular facets, blooming with organic patina from its exposure to the elements. Please view the detailed images as they are an important part of the product description.
