French 19th Century Carved White Marble Pedestal

Dimensions: 44 ¼” H x 12” W x 12” D

A monumental carved marble display pedestal from late 19th century France, to elevate precious artwork, décor, or greenery in your interior. By the artist’s hand and tools the white stone with gray veining has been shaped to angular, geometric proportions as it inverts from the top, tapering into the base. The thick capital is square, outlined by an ogee carved edge on the table which is echoed by the stacked profile at the base. Evidence of time & use includes scratches, small edge chips and subtle changes in the tone of the marble which has been gently cleaned to appreciate the natural characteristics. We believe this item to be in good antique condition considering its age, and any visible signs of wear are captured in the photos.
