Neoclassical style marble and porcelain pedestal
French, late 19th Century
Height 108cm, width 30cm, depth 30cm
This fine column-form pedestal is crafted in the Neoclassical style from Sèvres style porcelain, gilt bronze, and marble. The pedestal features a tapering columnar shaft, wrought from parcel gilt cobalt blue porcelain and terminating above and below in moulded gilt bronze mounts. The shaft is set on a tiered marble base, and supports a square marble top. The pedestal is the ideal piece upon which to display to its best a porcelain vase. -
