Pair of French 19th Century Cast Stone Urns on Pedestals
-
Description
A pair of urn-form planters rest upon a pair of pedestals to complete this duo of superb garden antiques. Made in France, circa 1890, the planters are cast in a classical form and each have a drain to accommodate watering. The beautiful urns are placed atop a matching pair of cast stone pedestals. The pedestals are styled with cast panels on two sides and cast human figures on the alternate sides. Both the planters and pedestals are excellently patinated from exposure to the elements and their stone has acquired wonderful coloration from moss and lichens that have made their home there. The urns’ bowls separate from their bases, which are also separate from the pedestals, making their transport less demanding and more manageable. Placed in a courtyard, a garden, a conservatory or greenhouse, this pair is ready to house and display your topiaries, flowers or shrubbery with an heir of antiquity.
