Pair of Indian wooden doors with painted decoration
Indian, 19th Century
Height 165cm, width side-by-side 96cm, depth 10cm
This pair of wooden doors is painted with a host of superb Indian imagery. The doors feature wrought iron fixtures, and each features five panels set within borders painted with scrolling forms. The panels depict scenes from Indian courtly and country life: figures in the court and hunting, for instance, all executed in a distinctive Indian style. -
