This pair of superb antique French cast iron "Medici" garden urns were manufactured around 1880. 6 identical pairs are currently available for purchase. Originally used outdoors, these quintessential campana jardinieres can be used indoors as dramatic accessories to traditional or modern rooms. These urns closely follow the form of the Greek originals, carved from stone. The socle base displays incised decoration that complements the gadrooning along the lower reservoir. The rim is cast with a palmette border. These are unique antique items and show signs of wear from their history.
