Pair of 1960s Willy Guhl "Soup Cup" or "Tilted" Garden Planter, 25" diameter
-
Description
Willy Guhl (1915 – 2004) was a Swiss furniture, product and interior designer who excelled at a modern neo-functional aesthetic. He was an unconventional industrial designer who experimented with new materials and forms most known for his Loop Chair in 1954 made with a mixture of cement and asbestos for outdoor use. His series of mid-century planters based on that early material were wonderfully modern and weather-resistant - produced by the Swiss company Eternit. This pair of "soup cup" or "tilted" planters have perfect patina.
