    Antiques 18th century ellipse shaped brown tortoise shell Tea Caddie with hinged lid. Decorated with a center medallion painting on the ostrich shell portrait of a Mary Queen of Scots. The hinged lid’s interior is lined with green cloth, lock with a key. Origin England or Scottland. Measurements are: 6 1/4″ w x 3 1/4″”d x 5″ H.

    Mary Queen of Scots also known as Mary Stuart or Mary I of Scottland from December 1542 to 24July 1567. Mary the only surviving legitimate child od King James V, was six day old when her father died and she acceded to the throne.
