Description
A WHIMSICAL CARVED AND PAINTED FOLK ART HOLSTEIN COW PULL TOY
American, circa second half of the 20th Century
Carved hardwood, fabric ears, softwood base and wheels, ceramic and iron front wheel
Signature to the underside of the holstein, perhaps that of an owner at one point
12" H x 15 1/4" W x 5 3/4" D
A lively vintage Folk Art child's pull toy of a Holstein cow carved from a single block of hardwood over a rectilinear base with wood rear wheels and an earlier ceramic front wheel.
Condition: Rubbing wear and loss to the pigment throughout from light handling; dryness to the fabric ears; scuffs and abrasions to the waxed softwood base; some loss to the end of one of the utters.
