Description
Exclusive contemporary abstract sculpture from Austrian wood artist Markus Treml. This unusual, modern sculpture resulted after Mr. Treml visited an old friend in his last days, unfortunately already mentally confused. This very emotional last visit created this exceptional abstract sculpture which should depict the so-called "knot" in a brain - that is what the artist felt and saw in his mind´s eye in this very powerful moment. Artfully handcarved out of an old linden tree, the whole sculpture has been plated with fine silver. The absolute extraordinary looking surface with its exceptional patterns has been naturally created by fine occuring cracks in the wood which caused oxidation within the silver. A truly one of a kind modern sculpture, creating different forms, depending on the viewing angle. This masterpiece of contemporary art comes on a white round wooden base.
About the artist:
Markus Treml was born 1956 in Gmunden/ Upperaustria. After his successefully study in the late 1970s in the department of sculpture at the academy of fine arts in Vienna as well as in the university of contemporary art and industrial design in Linz, he started his creative works as self-employed artist in 1982. In the following years he established numerous projects on the public but also private sector. Exhibitions abroad and nationally, as well as various awards brought him attention in the art scene. Renowned for his extremly realistic carved depictions of human faces/ busts, Markus Treml is an exceptional talent and absolute master when it comes to any kind of wooden art. - More Information
