Description
Origin: Delft, the Netherlands
Workshop: unknown
Date: 1690 – 1710
Set of two rare and large cashmere beaker vases.
This set of two beaker vases or rolwagen vazen are decorated with two scenes on the neck, painted in Red, green, and blue, on a white tin-glazed ground. Starting from a flat base, the decoration on the lower part is purely floral and ornamental. The bulb is also in the same decoration. Above, we see the two scenes: in the first scene, we see a lady and a child playing in a garden. In the second scene, we see a palace scene with two ladies relaxing. The scenes are divided by the same floral and ornamental design as can be seen on the lower part. A rare and unusual shape to find in Dutch Delftware. -
