Aesthetic Movement English Tortoise Burnt Bamboo Hall Stand, 1880s
Offred for sale is an antique 1880s Aesthetic Movement English hall stand in bamboo with a burnt trompe-l'oeil faux tortoise finish. This hall stand has a mirror that is flanked on either side with woven cane panels and with staggered angled lattice bars. A single substantial glass shelf has been fitted to cover the openings for canes and umbrellas. This shelf allows for placements of keys and objects. The upper section has bamboo hat holders, while the lower section has been fitted with glass to act as a shelf for storing boots.
The has stand is straight and is good condition. All shelves could be removed if desired. -
