Chubac was born in Geneva, Switzerland, in 1925 and received a Diploma in Decorative Arts in 1945 from the Geneva School of Decorative Arts. After visiting and living in all parts of Egypt, he had an exhibit in Athens.
By 1951 he was again in Paris, where his work showed a primary influence by Nicholas de StaÎl. Chubac moved to the south of France in Aspremont near Nice. Although he has exhibited throughout Europe and in New York City, he has had many more shows along the Cote d’Azur.
He has exhibited with Arden Quin and other MADI artists, and his prints appeared in a folio with MADI and similar artists.

Message from Seller:
Pavilion is the collective vision of Deborah Colman and Neil Kraus, both graduates of the master of fine arts program at the Art Institute of Chicago. From a longstanding interest in art and design, frequent buying trips to France and Italy have influenced the direction of the gallery to offer items that are not easily sourced in Chicago and United States. Postwar design has been the focus for 18 yrs and we also look forward to new design that crosses boundaries and dialogues as well to the past
