American Midcentury Modern Sterling Silver Box with Lower 48 Map

Midcentury Modern sterling silver box. Rectangular with straight sides. Cover hinged with long tab. Gilt interior. On cover top is engraved map of the Lower 48, which at the time this box was made, probably comprised all the states in the union. Alaska and Hawaii were admitted in 1959. Marks include maker’s stamp (The Thomae Co.). Very good condition.
