Arthur Espenet Carpenter Rosewood Tissue Box (circa 1965)
This elegant rectangular tissue box exemplifies Arthur Espenet Carpenter’s mid-century modern vision. Carpenter was a self-taught master woodworker whose celebrated furniture is held in prestigious museum collections.
In this rare piece, the clean, organic form and meticulous craftsmanship.
The warm tones and striking figure of the rosewood lend this utilitarian object the presence of a small work of art.
Details
Materials: Rich brown Brazilian rosewood with finely executed joinery, paired with a flush-mounted masonite sliding lid for easy access.
Dimensions: 10.75″ L × 5.50″ W × 2.75″ H (27.3 × 14.0 × 7.0 cm).
Condition: Very good vintage condition. The rosewood shows a mellow patina consistent with age, and the original finish is intact. The sliding panel operates smoothly, and there are no significant chips, cracks, or repairs. -
