Description
On offer for your consideration we have a wonderful porcelain figured of a seated man or organ grinder or in German "Orgelmann".
This very unusual porcelain was designed by Mathilde Jaksch in 1926 for Augarten in Vienna. Mathilde Jaksch was a porcelain modeler for Augarten from 1926 till the 1930's in this period she designed 66 pieces, all in the modern style or Art Deco.
Originally Augarten was born from in 1923 from the historic "Vienna Porcelain Manufactory" (1718-1864) or called "Old Vienna" porcelain. Augarten has produced many pieces for designers of the Wiener Werkstätte Josef Hoffmann, Michael Powolny, Otto Prutscher, Ena Rottenberg and Vally Wieselthier. -
